As a big fan of Kindle, I'm saddened to hear that Kindle is leaving China. To continue my reading, I have developed a new plan:
Account
- Register for an American Amazon account
- Switch my Kindle to this account and use the American sync and transfer book service.
Software
- Use Calibre to manage my ebooks, and transfer books by following these steps:
- Open Calibre settings.
- Select "Sharing" and then "Sharing book by email."
- Choose "Use Outlook" and enter my email account and password.
- Enter my Amazon settings and add my trusted email.
Resource
- Use the following resources for finding books:
- https://haodoo.net/
- https://ebook2.lorefree.com/ (IPFS-based and with many books available).
- If you are in China, you can easily install this plug-in https://doubanbook.plus/
Action
- Add books into Calibre.
- Download book covers and metadata, and transfer books via email.
- Happy reading.
